How to Install VirtualBox

Since I started using VirtualBox in my Operating System classes, learning different operating systems has become more fun and exciting.  My students were able to explore various operating systems such as  Solaris, Linux, FreeBSD,  OpenBSD and Windows while using just a single pc.

VirtualBox is a powerful virtualization software that is currently maintained by Sun Microsystems, Inc.  and is freely available as Open Source Software under the terms of the GNU General Public License (GPL).

Installation of VirtualBox is straightforward as illustrated below:

Open File

Begin the installation by running the downloaded file, i.e., locate the file and double click it. A dialog box appears, simply click “Run”.
